Do you have leadership experience, a desire to serve your community, and skills that can help drive our mission forward?

Women Engaged is a thriving social justice organization based in Georgia celebrating 10 years of effective people-centered change. As we move into the future, we are seeking passionate, values-aligned people to join our dynamic Board of Directors to help shape the next decade of impact and transformation!
Our goal is to have an intergenerational board of thoughtful, goal-oriented, generous, team players who have integrity and are rooted in duty to community, committed to problem-solving, and building the visibility and resources of Women Engaged to actualize our mission and vision.

Why Join Our Board?

Serving on the Women Engaged Board means being part of a movement that empowers communities, advances civic engagement, and champions human rights. Board members play an active role in organizational governance, offering their expertise, influence, and leadership to propel our mission forward.

As a board member, you will:

Make a Difference – Use your expertise and experiences to inform strategies to build vital power in our communities.

Expand Your Network – Collaborate with like-minded leaders, professionals, and community advocates on value-aligned activities, events, and initiatives.

Develop Leadership Skills – Gain valuable experience in nonprofit governance, fundraising, political education, and organizational strategy.

Strengthen Our Mission – Assist in expanding and deepening Women Engaged’s reach in the Atlanta-Metro area and across the state of Georgia in Black and communities of color to provide opportunities for connection and power-building. 


Who We’re Looking For

We need a diverse range of skills and are especially prioritizing individuals who are:

    • Joyful, Values-Driven Leaders committed to grassroots advocacy and systems change, team players, who show up with integrity and a strong belief in our vision and mission.

    • Deeply Rooted Georgians, whether native or transplants, with lived experience and trusted relationships across communities, rural and urban, emerging and established.

    • Generous Collaborators & Purpose Driven Connectors ready to open doors, share resources and talents, and build bridges to new networks that support growing our collective capacity.

    • Strategic Thinkers who understand movement-building and are excited to offer insight, governance, and guidance during times critical.

    • Creative Problem Solvers who are patient, persistent, and energized by finding paths forward in complexity.
    • Youthful and Emerging Leaders who are deeply aware and committed to the issues of focus for people between the ages of 16 -25. We deeply encourage those between the ages of 18-25 to consider joining. 

Prior nonprofit experience is beneficial but not required. Most importantly, we seek passionate and committed individuals ready to contribute their time, expertise, and energy.


Board Member Expectations

📅 Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per month, including any board meetings and/or committee work.
💰 Fundraising Commitment: Work to raise $2k a year through individual donors giving.
🤝 Engagement: Attend events, participate in strategic planning, and advocate for our mission.
